Connect a screen

You connect a screen by minting an activation code in the Manager and typing it into the player. The player already knows which Media24 server to talk to — you never enter a server address.

In the Manager, go to Devices+ Add device, give the screen a name, and generate a code. The code is one-time and expires in 10 minutes.

The box needs internet before the code can be redeemed. On the player’s connect screen, the ⚙ System settings pill at the top-right opens Android settings so you can join Wi-Fi. You can also reach Android settings later with a hardware MENU / INFO / SETTINGS key on the remote.

The connect screen has a title “Connect this device through Media24 Manager”, the subtitle “Enter the activation code from Media24 Manager”, a single Activation code field, and an Enroll device button. Type the code and select Enroll device.

There is no server-address field — the player already knows the Media24 server, so there is nothing to mistype. With a TV remote, focus starts in the code field and the focused control enlarges and glows as you move.

Every failure shows the same one message: “Enrollment failed. Check the activation code and try again.”

Once enrolled with nothing published yet, the player shows a branded idle screen: the M24 logo, “No content published yet”, “Publish a campaign to this screen in Media24 Manager”, the device name and ID <deviceId>, and a green Online / grey Offline status dot.

The ID matches the device row in the Manager, so you can always tell which screen you are looking at.

If the device is offline with nothing cached to play, it shows “Waiting for network…” instead.

To disconnect a screen, delete the device in the Manager. That revokes its credential, and the player returns to the connect screen within about a minute. There is no way to un-enroll from the device itself.
