Autoconfiguration

Autoconfiguration is the player’s automatic device tuning. It keeps a signage box awake and reachable without anyone touching the device.

On every boot, the player applies a small bundle of settings:

  • keeps the screen awake so the display never sleeps;
  • shows over and dismisses the lock screen so content is always visible;
  • holds a Wi-Fi performance lock so an idle box keeps reporting in to the Manager.

It needs no root and no special provisioning — it works on an ordinary sideloaded box.

Autoconfiguration is on by default on every player. There is no switch on the device — you cannot turn it on or off at the screen.

The only control is in the Manager: on a device, open CONTROLSAutoconfiguration and toggle it on or off. The choice is saved on the device.
